“There’s a man I know”. Apparently this is as far as Chrissy Boy (guitarist with Madness) got with the song before Mike (keyboard player) took over and finished “Bed and Breakfast Man”. Now, this song is a brilliant song all about Madness’ first manager who was evidently a committed sofa surfer. The single version is great, but this version that was part of Madness’ John Peel Session is a gem and a really guilty pleasure. Not only does it feature Chrissy Boy on vocals, but it is a slightly different tempo and that organ sound is just a pure delight. The ending is pure creative chaos. I’ve also included the single version for context.
