One of the things in common between Madness and The Specials was their ability to codify the minutiae of life into really great songs. The last Guilty Pleasure (Bed and Breakfast Man) took something as simple as someone dossing at people’s houses and made a magical song of it. The same occurs with this week’s Guilty Pleasure. The Specials have taken drunken late nights and weaved all that grim detail into a wonderful tale with the most amazing keyboard solo. Enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think.
