Guilty Pleasures #106

I was lucky to be exposed to hip-hop during it’s “Golden Age”. Innovation was the driving force. Cleverer sounds, better beats and rhymes and true artistry. To me, so much of modern day hip-hop is very generic. It stands to reason, as the art form moved into the mainstream it became commodified. This week’s guilty pleasure has the feel of that golden age with a wider sonic palette to work from. Different sounds, different voices, different languages. Enjoy.
