Life Lists #51 :: 7 Things

I was told a story about a nurse who had assisted in the passing of over 300 patients. The old, the terminally ill etc. The nurse had been aware of the final breaths of the patients. The Quiet Hour, she called it. That liminal space between this world and whatever awaits us beyond the physical. She started to note the last words the patients were saying, and there were 7 patterns:

I Should Have Loved More—And Differently

I Saved My Joy for Later—And Later Never Came

Forgiveness Set Me Free More Than Oxygen Did

The Best Things in Life Were Free—And I Was Too Busy to Notice

Regret Is the Heaviest Thing to Carry

Presence Is the Greatest Gift You Can Give

Peace Comes When You Stop Pretending

Maybe take one and meditate on it?

Every Monday I’ll publish a useful life list (and who doesn’t like a list?). Wednesday is a Guilty Pleasure. Friday I waffle on about something that impacted me in the past week.
