I’m currently missing someone. Not in the “I can’t find them” sense, but in the sense that I wish they were here. I had spent quite a few days with them, and now they are not here, and I am really missing them. It’s a bittersweet thing. I do enjoy the fact that despite our hyper-connectivity, you can still be absent from someone, or they from you. That longing to be near someone is so intense at times. Anyway, this is one of my “I miss you” songs. The video is terribly arty for the sake of it. I think this was the period that Blink 182 wanted to distance themselves from previous releases and infantile videos. It’s the ‘we’re serious musicians’ moment. That being said, Travis (drummer) looks cute, the chorus speaks volumes and I really wish that person was with me, as well as wishing that the singer could annuciate the word ‘head’ and not pronouce it ‘yed’. You’ll see/hear what I mean. If you can, and there is someone you’re missing, do reach out. Life is too short.
