Gifting Books #1

There are some books that I just have to buy for other people (if I think it will help them). These books have really made a huge difference in my life and I hope that they can make a similar difference to other people. I also just love bumping into someone who has read one of these books, purely so we can compare notes and maybe learn from each others insights, and maybe feel a little smug for tuning into the hidden knowledge from the wizards.

This book is the one that I have bought the most for other people. There are many books on managing money, but for me, “Your Money or Your Life: 9 Steps to Transforming Your Relationship With Money And Achieving Financial Indpendence”, really gets to the heart of what money is and how we can maage it in a way that we can reclaim a lot of our time and achieve financial indepdence. Financial indepndence (FI) is a huge subject area, way beyond the scope of this paricular blog post, but suffice to say I am sure we would all like a little more time to live our lives and still be financially supported. One person asked me “Is this a get rich quick book?”. No, it is not. This book really gets to the heart of what money is, what impact it has on our lives, and importantly, how we can get away from having it rule our lives. If you study and follow the nine steps, you can really make a huge, positive difference in your life and forge a better relationship with money. I certainly wish I had known about this book in my 20’s.

There is a great summary of the book here plus there is a good spreadsheet which helps you work your money in line with the books 9 steps here.

I would recommend this book to absolutely anyone. Order it here.
